Principal's Update

Dear Parent/Carer,
Principal’s Update
When I look back and remember the school that I came to 5 years ago, I do not recognise it as the same place that Grace Academy has become today and I am proud of what we have achieved together over the past 5 years. I was told that Grace was a place that parents chose last, if at all, and children weren’t able to thrive.
When I started, Grace Academy had falling student numbers and the community had lost faith in the school. I am so proud that now we are:
- Within the top 50 schools nationally for our pupil progress;
- One of the top 10 schools in Coventry for exam results;
- Recognised by Ofsted as a good school with, most importantly, outstanding Personal Development.
My heart has been at Grace for the last 5 years and I have truly felt the joy of being a headteacher. Your support, gratitude and kindness has not gone unnoticed over the years and I am grateful that we have built a school that we can be proud of.
We host an annual Careers Fayre, with over 40 businesses and organisations attending, to inform our students about possible next steps beyond Grace Academy. Our performing arts department have brought back school productions and we are now into our third year of amazing productions which showcase the incredible talent we have amongst our students. We have events that are led by the community for the community.
Mrs Wheller has been Associate Principal for the past year I feel it is the right time for me to step away from Grace Academy to enable Mrs Wheller to continue her path as Principal of Grace Academy and to enable me to continue developing my role for Tove Learning Trust.
I feel It is therefore time for me to continue in my own journey of ‘making a difference’ and I want to put my heart into communities where I can again make the most difference. I will always think of Grace as my home.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs N Bryan
Executive Principal
