World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development

Wednesday, 6th May 2026

Dear Parent/Carer,

World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development

As part of our acknowledgement of 'World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development', we would like to celebrate the diversity and culture that is represented here at Grace Academy.  We feel this is an excellent opportunity to celebrate our value of Mutual Respect.  We have decided to celebrate this on the last day of this term as there are no Year 11 exams taking place that day so all students will be able to participate.

On Friday 22nd May students will be able to come to school in their cultural dress and celebrate their heritage.  No donation is required to participate.  Those wishing to celebrate their British heritage are able to come dressed in clothing that is red, white and blue or which expresses other elements of British culture.

We ask that students dress in appropriate attire that is suitable to wear in the Academy: low-cut tops, exposed midriffs, shorts and clothing with offensive writing/drawing are not allowed. Students will not be allowed to wear caps or headwear unless as part of their cultural dress.  A reminder that this is not a non-uniform day, rather a day to celebrate cultural heritage and therefore students are expected to wear their normal school uniform if they are not dressed in cultural dress.

We are really looking forward to the day and celebrating the many cultures represented here at Grace!

Yours sincerely,
Mrs E Williams
Assistant Principal for Personal Development and Ethos
