16/6/23: Year 11 Leavers' Letter
Dear Parent/Carer,
Farewell to Year 11
Please read through this letter with your child so you are aware of the arrangements for collection of exam results.
Year 11, I cannot believe that this is the last time that I will be writing to you! I don’t know your thoughts but it certainly only feels like yesterday it was 2018 and you were joining us in Year 7. Potentially, the pandemic striking whilst you were in Year 8 made time feel like it has been on fast forward in those middle years – I don’t know, but it certainly has gone quickly!
Whilst I know it has been a tiring process, I am of the firm opinion that this exam season has shown you at your best. You have exemplified the Grace values, acting with Genuine Integrity throughout and I truly hope you get the Intentional Excellence in outcomes that your Limitless Potential deserves when you receive your results in August.
On the topic of results, Results Day will take place on Thursday 24th August. You will be able to collect your results from 9am.
All students will enter through the main double doors used for the Exam Briefings and head to one of the results desks (which will be alphabetised). You will also be required to complete a Destinations Form with a member of staff before leaving site outlining what your plans are after you leave Grace Academy.
On the actual results day, it is perfectly normal to find yourself experiencing all kinds of emotions. To support you we have two available breakout rooms where guidance will be provided. In our Sixth Form centre we will have several members of staff who will be able to look at Sixth Form entry requirements with you and discuss places at Grace Academy next year. In addition to this, we will be using the first drama studio as a space for students who wish to go somewhere private after opening their envelopes.
With that last bit of logistical information comes all I have to say! At the start of the exams season I handed you a pen which had inscribed on it ‘Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep climbing’. Please do keep climbing and never set any limits on what you think you can achieve – sometimes the biggest doubter we have is ourselves.
I would just like to echo my closing sentiment from the Leavers’ Assembly: you are and always will remain Grace Academy students. You will always be part of our Grace family and I truly wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
Yours sincerely,
Mr K Brehon
Vice Principal and Head of Key Stage 4
